New Basic Classroom Training Requirements
Changes to Electrical Trainee Education
Requirement
NEW REQUIREMENTS ARE NOW IN EFFECT
This means for a trainee card to be
activated (issued) on or after July 1, 2013 the trainee will be required to have 48 hours of basic trainee classes, regardless of when the renewal fee was paid.
Effective July 1, 2013 Electrical
trainees will be required to have 48 hours of basic classroom education to renew/activate.
The amount of basic trainee classroom hours required for new applicants will be:
• Twenty-four hours where 2,000 or more; but less than 4,000 hours of work
experience is required.
• Forty-eight hours where 4,000 or more; but less than 6,000 hours of work
experience is required.
• Seventy-two hours where 6,000 or more; but less than 8,000 hours of work
experience is required.
• Ninety-six hours where 8,000 hours or more of work experience is
required.
NOTE: You can use the most recent 2 CEU renewal periods to meet the
96hr requirement
Currently, only trainees renewing their training certificate are required to demonstrate
